Meet Peggy Wolff
She has been a therapist in private practice for more than thirty years using spiritually based psychotherapy, relaxation, imagery, and holistic nursing skills. In 1995, she expanded her practice to include environmental health counseling. Through personal experience with and extensive study of a serious environmental illness, multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS), Peggy Wolff has gained the kind of knowledge needed to assist those similarly affected. In addition to having extensive clinical experience in various mental health services, Peggy Wolff has taught nursing at the college level for many years. From 1984 to 1995, she co-developed and taught the American Holistic Nurses' Association four phase Certificate Program in Holistic Nursing throughout the U.S. Peggy Wolff is a committed environmental health activist. For seven years, 1995 to 2002, she served as chairperson of the Environmental Health Coalition of Western Massachusetts, a grassroots organization that serves the needs of chemically injured people, especially people with MCS. In that capacity, she spearheaded several key local and national projects including a detailed healthy housing brochure, a detailed fragrance and health brochure, and a safe housing conference. She was able to get financial support for EHCWM from several funders including the EPA. In 2002, Peggy Wolff began work with Health Care Without Harm (HCWH), an international campaign of approximately 390 hospitals, health care facilities, and environmental organizations. HCWH was created to provide a remedy for pollution from health care practices. Peggy Wolff represents (1) the Chemical Injury Information Network, a national nonprofit organization of chemically injured people, on HCWH's Health Affected Workers workgroup; and, (2) the American Holistic Nurses' Association on HCWH's Nurses' workgroup.
